Leo Levasseur, Manager
Leo is the Manager of Select's corporate and engineering services including: Planning, Land Development, Municipal Services and Landscape Architecture. With over 30 years of professional experience providing project management services for land and industrial Developments in Alberta, Leo is responsible for managing the daily operations of the firm, client contacts, project budgets, invoicing, and overseeing management and administrative activities.
Leo's career has seen the development of over 15 residential and industrial neighbourhoods in the greater Edmonton area. Design considerations include sanitary and storm sewer systems, water distribution, transportation - including arterial roadways, storm water management facilities - and overall earthwork grading programs.
Leo has a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). In addition to his experience and education, Leo has been involved on the Executive Committee with the Urban Development Institute (UDI) as well as numerous other committees and working groups.
Brenda Peters, RPP, MCIP, Senior Planner
Brenda is a Senior Planner with Select Engineering Consultants Ltd. and has worked with members of the Select group (formerly UMA) for over twelve years. Previous to joining the Select team, she worked with Stantec Consulting in Edmonton for twenty years. Brenda has always worked on the private consulting side of the land development business. She has a strong technical background and longstanding relationships with administrations and Councils in the greater Edmonton region and other Alberta communities. She is a graduate of the University of Alberta and is a Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP) and the Alberta Professional Planners Institute.
Brenda works with developers, engineers, architects and other professional consultants as required to create cost effective and marketable neighbourhood designs and urban and industrial development plans that gain municipal approval for highest and best land use. Timing, organization and attention to detail are critical to the success of land development projects and Brenda has seen many large and small projects through from inception to construction. She is adept at addressing todays important economic, environmental and sustainability considerations at the provincial and municipal levels.
Steve Brittain, CET, Manager Municipal Engineering
Steve Brittain has built a career in land development and municipal engineering over the past 19 years. Upon graduating the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) Engineering Design and Drafting Technology program, Steve initiated his carrier path as a draftsperson. His career has evolved from his drafting background into detailed engineering design methods utilizing advanced CADD systems. Construction inspection and site surveying for land development projects within the greater Edmonton Region and northern Alberta are additional duties that have provided Steve extensive experience in the heavy construction industry. His professional experience and strong work ethic has allowed Steve to progress into a management role working alongside clients and approving authorities on land development projects and municipal infrastructure reporting and improvement programs.
Mark Solikowski, P.Eng, Manager Land Development
Mark is the Manager of the Land Development group at Select. He deals with all aspects of residential, commercial and industrial land development projects such as cost estimating, preliminary and detailed design, preparation of tenders, specifications, contract administration, management of project budgets and payment, construction management and inspections. Additionally he acts as a liaison with municipal approving authorities during the review and issue of approved engineering drawings for construction.
Gilbert Catabay, AALA, CSLA, Senior Landscape Architect
Gilbert Catabay is a Landscape Architect, who has over 25 years of experience in the landscape architecture both in Bahrain (Middle East) and Canada. He has accumulated a diverse range of project expertise in downtown improvements, streetscape design, urban design, community development, sports field and park planning, entry monumentation and regional planning design. He is responsible for all aspects of landscape architecture serving both public and private sector clients, and draws upon a wide range of experience in the development process from conceptual design to master planning through to implementation.
